How to Remove the Desktop Beta XPSP-1

Here is another way to get rid of the Windows Desktop Build after installing XPSP-1
This works in XP Home & Pro and is better
than locking the desktop because you won’t lose
your XP-clear-type Icons:

To Remove Windows version on desktop
Right click on desktop /properties/desktop/customize desktop/web/check “Lock desktop items”

or

Registry hack:
Remove the following two registry keys:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\CA\Certificates\FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87FDE2A065FD89D4]

and

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\ROOT\Certificates\2BD63D28D7BCD0E251195AEB519243C13142EBC3]

Reboot and the job is done.
